You know you’re a runner when… you have so much athletic clothing that you have it mentally sorted into categories: running clothes, gym clothes, workout clothes that are acceptable to wear to social functions, ALL THE LEGGINGS, ratty workout clothes that should never be worn for anything other than home workouts…
You know you’re a runner when… foam rolling is simultaneously the best thing ever and the bane of your existence.
You know you’re a runner when… your hunger has two settings: hungry and EAT ALL THE THINGS.
You know you’re a runner when… running has become a part of your life that is not only important but NECESSARY.
You know you’re a runner when… injuries that sideline you from running force you to reenter normal society. (What do you mean, there’s life outside of running??) Oh, and eat lots of ice cream.
You know you’re a runner when… that first run after coming back from an injury makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.
You know you’re a runner when… your closest friends also happen to be your running buddies/other runners. They just understand you.
You know you’re a runner when… you know that it takes not only a strong body but also a strong mind to push through a tough run.
You know you’re a runner when… no matter how difficult yesterday’s run was, you still lace up and try again today.
Can you tell that I miss running? 😉 I’m feeling strong and I’m nearly ready to run again. I can’t imagine how great it will feel to lace up my shoes and hit the pavement for the first time in months!
What is your favorite part of being a runner?
Tell me your most fulfilling running experience. Running in the first snow of the year – right in the midst of college applications – last winter. Calling that run therapeutic doesn’t even begin to describe how great it felt.
